Choosing the right Kitchen

Over half (56.8%) of the kitchens designed and most often requested type of kitchen design is traditional. However, we identified contemporary and clean, simple lines as kitchen design trends to watch for.

When asked for the top three most used cabinetry finishes, over three-fourths of designers report using cherry and maple, while paints and exotic woods tied for third. This contrasts with once dominant oak cabinetry, with only 15% of designers reporting usage. Moreover, designers identify stainless steel as the top color scheme in today's kitchen designs with 60.8% of designers reporting usage, followed by beiges/bones with 57.7%.

Hardwood flooring for £10 per m2

If you shop around a bit you will be able to pick up a good quality hardwood floor for as little as £10 per m2. Why is the flooring so cheap well the big flooring boom has slowed down. A year or two ago every body was buying the flooring like mad so all the shops that have opened to meet demands are now stuck with this flooring they need to sell. Apparently people are going back to carpet A wood floor not only looks better but can be cleaned easier and stays cleaner. Don't move...improve!

I think it is quite safe now to say the housing boom is clearly over!
Things were getting a little crazy out there with a average price of around £160,000 for a 2-3 bed house. You can now drive down a few streets and see the same old For Sale signs which have almost become a garden orniment.
Looking on the bright side at least the 1st time buyers have got a chance to get on the property ladder, even more so in a few months. So where does this leave the poor home owner with a 95% mortgage who just bought there property in the last 6 months. Well your going to have to dig in and save your cash incase the repayments fly up. Hopefully you did not buy the best house on the street so you can DIY your money back, maybe

So what about the familys who need an extra room for there growing family?
Well Don't move improve! Get your loft conversion done or an extension for 1-3 rooms extra. You could end up with a better house than if you had moved. Plus extra rooms always adds equity to your property.
