Making your home green and help the environment

Wherever possible, eco-homes are built using natural, recycled or reclaimed materials.

A good way to start with a greener home is by using as much wood as possible.
Any wood should be from a sustainable source and approved by the Forest Stewardship Council or similar organisation.
Windows

This solid oak window not only looks the part it is far better for the enviroment over PVC-u. The production and disposal of PVC-u windows leads to the release of highly poisonous chemicals which threaten the environment and human health. PVC-u production involves no less than six of the fifteen most hazardous chemicals listed by European governments for priority elimination. Timber is a sustainable resource. As long as the timber is sourced from properly managed forests and care is taken in the choice of preservatives, paints and stains, timber windows are by far the best environmental choice.

Doors

The same goes for your doors, have a timber door.
PVC-u doors and windows are already becoming a second choice with people going back to timber doors and windows.

Wood is timeless and providing care is taken to maintain your timber products they will last you a life time.

At woodFX we carefuly select our suppliers and products to ensure they are independently certified that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
